Ermanno Wolf-Ferrari is one of those overlooked composers in classical music. Partly, it's because his music is not widely recorded. He lived in the early part of the 20th century in the shadow of Verdi, but he also lived when so much of the musical spotlight was in France with Debussy and Ravel. But BBC Philharmonic Principal Conductor Gianandrea Noseda is hoping to change that with this beautiful recording of Wolf-Ferrari's orchestral and stage works.
